We have an obbsesion with Cereal

Not sure if this obsession was genetic or not. The first time Lucas saw my moms food storage he was amazed at the massive amounts of cereal but it is a great food storage. Everthing is already sealed so animals and water stay out, it is fortified with vitamins. I remember in a nutrition class for one of our assignments we had to track the food we ate for three days and then enter it into a program to show what nutrients we were getting and lacking. Those college students that mainly ate cereal met all of there vitamin intake if not exceeded daily.

The funny thing is were we are storing all of are cereal! Lee's marketplace had there giant size cereal bags on sale for $2 dollars!

Perfect Banana Bread

When I first made this receipe I don't know what I did or what happened or if I forgot the baking soda but it was horrible! I felt like an eight year old again that needed her husbands adult supervison in the kitchen. I remember posting my frusration on facebook and my aunt thought it was so cute that I was a newly wed trying to cook. Which did not make me feel any better. I'm 25 for goodness sakes my pioneer anscestors made bread when they were 5 why could I not make a simple loaf of banana bread.

My apron collection that has sat during 1st trimester that are finally being used again!

But success has come! I got this recipe from my sister who at one point and maybe still is forbidden to touch the bread pans in her house. Senor Guapo said that I am doing much better. I'm still smiling! Victory is finally mine in the banana making division.

It almost looks like a shake when you are done. But puree those bananas!

Makes ONE loaf (you should probably double or triple it, it goes FAST!)
1/2 cup of oil
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 bananas (pureed with a hand imerssion blender, you have to be CRAZY NUTS about how perfectly smooth and blended it must be.  No lumps, NOT ONE!)
Mix together
2 cups flour
1 T. Baking soda
1 pinch salt
Grease and flour pan. Bake 350 for 25-30 mins.

For muffins Bake for 17 min 16 if you like them a little gooey in the middle.

Forgiveness: My Burden Was Made Light

Forgiveness: My Burden Was Made Light

Losing family members is never easy, but threw the Savior our burdens become lighter. I know that he can and will take our yoke upon him if we ask and then let him. Giving up pain, grief and hurt is a tug of war you natural man wants to keep these reasons to be mad a the world. But we learn that when we let them go and give them to our Savior, life is better then before.

I am grateful for these LDS videos. I look forward to seeing them weekly and again my soul has been touched and my testimony strengthened.

A goal to not be lazy

Where did she go many have asked? When are you going to blog again? Well I am alive and have been enjoying my summer as much as I possibly could. Many books have been read, movies watched, night walks with my husband and spending time outside enjoying the summer.

My little sister came home from her mission and I have enjoyed talking with her on the phone! We talk about boys and how to flirt and have fun! PS: she gave her number out last week, I'm so proud!

We have been to Demolition Durby's with good friends. Oh how the smell of gasoline combined with massive amount of rednecks and cars crashing into one another is still and will always be so fun to watch.

Last but not least breakfast burritos at beto's. I crave Mexican food all the time and love eating here.

So don't worry I am still around just not by the computer but I will be back soon!

Staying home

Complaining becaucse of morning sickness brings feelings of guilt.

So many women in this world have it harder than me, I should feel grateful that I can have children.

I guess rejoicing about morning sickness is the last thing I think to do.

But then I met Stephanie. I learned her story and thought wow look how lucky she is. But then I was wrong I am lucky too! Click on her name and please watch this short clip, it changed my life and my day.

Funny story while at graduation I actually got sick and had to leave. I didn't know what to do, during basketball games you can easily see when a player leaves  the floor and that was not my goal. Luckily I was sitting at the end of an row. This time came and I took off my rob and hat, shoes in hand I bolted. I hoped I would make it to the bathroom and I did. I made it back in time to walk too! I am so greatful school is done! With a week off work I am resting and enjoying life. Sadly I wish there were more good movies out to watch. But instead I watch Stephanie's movie on lds.org for the third time and cry again.

Deal of the YEAR!

I just bought cereal for .40 a box! And it wasn't the western family style it was the real captain crunch. In the adds this last weeks ads I noticed that captain crunch was on sale along with other general mills oatmeal and granola bars for $1 a box a Smith's. I took the three dollar off general mills coupon from the Macy's and Fresh Market ads and went on over to Smith's. They gladly took my coupon and I bought my boxes of cereal for .40 each.
We will be heading back later this week to stock up on granola bars and oatmeal for out food storage. The best part is that Smith's is prepared as soon as you walk in the store the merchandise is there and well stocked but the sale ends on Tuesday so get there before then!

If you threw away your ads just head on over to Macy's they have plenty of Ad's for you to take and sometimes they have copies of the coupon at their registers.  The general mills coupon for $3 off when you buy five is on the second page just add that with the Smith's sale and five boxes of oatmeal, cereal and granola bars will only cost you $2 dollars.
